If I have applied for CS then how I would become an IPS....I separately applied for it..or merit wise I got the department?

There is no separate application for each cadre.In one application itself(mains application form) you have to specify the cadres.after that based upon your rank after the interview you will be given the posting .

There is no separate application for each cadre.In one application itself(mains application form) you have to specify the cadres.after that based upon your rank after the interview you will be given the posting criteria considered for the job: 1.your rank 2.your reservation 3.preferences you have choosen 4. opted state 5.number of posts allotted to the reservation candidates. these many criteia will be considered before you get any posting of your choice. read less
