I read this joke some thirty years back. Judge Asked," Who has brought this allegation?" Plaintiff Replied," I am the allegator." There is no word 'allegator', Only alligator is there. Alligator is a reptile and resembles a crocodile. Are there any words, like Homophones, which make a conversation a satire,as shown in the above example? Homophones are words that have a different spelling, different meaning but the same pronunciation.

Now that we have spoken about Homonyms that we can enlighten the difference between Homonyms, Homophones, and Homographs? if you are confused about the differences between homonyms, homophones, and homographs, Homonyms: This is the big category—the umbrella—under which we find homophones and homographs. Homophones are words that sound alike, but have different meanings and spellings. They are the sets of words that you probably learned in elementary school, though your teacher may have used the broader category of homonyms. for e.g. their and there, deer and dear, hear and here But Homographs are words that are spelled the same, but have different meanings and may have different pronunciations. wind and wind I can feel the wind in my hair. Wind up the string before it gets tangled. (Same spelling, different pronunciation.) One way to remember the difference between the terms homophone and homograph is by looking at the derivation of the words: HOMO ("same") + PHONE ("sound") HOMO ("same") + GRAPH ("writing") I wonder how much fun a linguist would be having studing langages.
