Different Types of Personality Disorder

Nowadays, everybody is into personality development classes as personality is one of the most important identities of an individual. In reality, it is a blend of qualities that builds individual overall characters. That’s the reason why we always believed that an individual with a cherry personality is a standout from the crowd.

On the other hand, an individual with a maladaptive pattern of behaviors and relationship that differs from societal norms and expectations are considered as a personality disorder. Yes, it’s true that personality disorder differs from individual to individual and it is now and then relies upon different things like attitudes, ego, values, peculiar memories and so on.

Different Types of Personality Disorder

As per the psychiatrists, personality disorder has various types. 1. Paranoid personality disorder (PPD) 2. Antisocial personality disorder (ASPD) 3. Schizoid personality disorder 4. Borderline personality disorder (BPD) 5. Narcissistic personality disorder 6. Dependent personality disorder, 7. Obsessive-compulsive personality disorder (OCPD) and few more. Among all the types of personality disorder, we are going to discuss some of the most common personality disorder in order to aware of it.

Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD)

Believed to be causes by the social factors, environment, genetic, depersonalization and much more, BPD is a personality disorder with an unstable sense of emotions, unstable sense of self and much more. Thus, individuals with BPD are often scared of rejection and feel the sense of emptiness in life. They likewise to feel depression, anxiety, anger and much more which lead towards self-damaging behaviorism - self-harm and sometimes suicidal behavior. They also feel Euphoria (intense happiness) and Dysphoria (extreme dissatisfaction) as per the psychological term.

Paranoid Personality Disorder (PPD)

An individual with a Paranoid personality disorder (PPD) have difficulty trusting people - be it family or dear companion as they feel the indication of disloyalty, betrayal, threats or dangers and much more in regular circumstances. Therefore, this type of personality disorder is generally characterized by paranoia - believed to be heavily influenced by fear, anxiety, distrust, along with suspiciousness issue and much more.

Antisocial Personality Disorder (ASPD)

The type of personality disorder characterized by the pattern of disregard, callous, lack of empathy, cynical, arrogant self-appraisal, violates other rights and break the laws for their needs and much more. An individual with ASPD are lack of moral sense and they often put themselves in the risky and undesirable situations. They are likely to be unpleasant, impulsive, behave dangerously and generally have no sense of guilt. They moreover, behave illegal and aggressive, which lead towards having a criminal record.

Obsessive-Compulsive Personality Disorder (OCPD)

An individual with OCPD has an obsession towards being perfectionism. They frequently don't know when to draw line or restriction in this manner. Thus, they give unnecessary consideration towards keeping things in order and unrealistically aims to control mentally and inter-personally. An individual with OCPD, generally stress about others as they may commit an error, they often feel hard to relax. They are inclined to get angry with circumstances, particularly when they are not able to maintain control and so on.
