If you want to improve your score in the writing test, then there is only one way to do so. That is to Practice. If you practice, then you can achieve anything. However, along with the practice, you'll also have to keep in mind some of the crucial points to score higher.

a. Concentrate on the structure of your answer. Your answers should be "structured". There should be a flow of thoughts from one paragraph to another. The context should not change, and the answer should be highly focused on that particular topic.

b. You can use words like "however", "in addition to", "having said that", to conclude your statements and also to maintain the flow between the sentences and the paragraphs.

c. You can use unusual words. It means that the words that everyone knows the meaning about, but nobody uses usually. By improving your vocabulary, you can showcase your lexical proficiency.

d. The most important part is to get your sentences grammatically correct, for example, you should know where to use "had been" and "would have been".

e. You'll have to play safely while you're writing, be sure you don't form grammatically incorrect sentences. Also, you do not deviate from the topic.

f. Your punctuation marks should be on point. You should know where to put a comma, a full stop, and colons and semicolons.
