Hindi language is derived from Sanskrit, as far as we can understand Khari Boli (a western hindi dialect, by Amir Khusro) was the spoken, which was originated in Delhi in early 16th to mid 18th century during Mughal period.

This was absorbed and came to be used as lingua franca. Hindustani was promoted by the British which arose the colloquial among Hindus which derives is vocabulary from Devnagari script.

As it came to rise during Mughal period, it consists many words of Devnagari, persian and urdu
